Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Expands Smoke-Free Gaming Area

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is expanding its smoke-free gaming floor to accommodate approximately 40 percent of the property’s slot machines. The project addresses increased demand and involves a phased renovation starting in October.

Temporary Casino Operations

To facilitate the construction, the Hard Rock Event Centre will operate as a temporary smoke-free casino beginning in September. This venue will function 24 hours a day and host 682 relocated slot machines alongside 34 table games. The temporary floor will feature table games including Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, Mississippi Stud, and Roulette. Cash centers and ticket redemption services will be available at the Event Centre, while the main casino cage remains operational.

Floor Renovations and Layout

The primary casino floor will receive 243 additional slot machines during the upgrade. The expansion covers areas between the Elvis piano display and Cipresso restaurant, as well as sections near the hotel lobby and L Bar. The renovation includes replacing carpets, seating, gaming table felts, and ceiling treatments. Existing smoke-free venues such as the Draper Room, Rock Spa & Salon, and Mezzanine Casino will remain unchanged, and all other resort amenities stay open.
